CHICAGO — United Heart rims proved to be no match for rookie Zion Williamson.
Soon after catching a lob pass from United states of america teammate Trae Young throughout Friday night’s Rising Stars Challenge, Williamson slammed down a two-handed jam that caused the rim to bend.
At halftime of the NBA All-Star Weekend event, United Centre employees had to bring out a ladder and readjust the basket to its correct alignment. That’s the pressure of a 284-pound player who posted a 45-inch vertical leap in college or university.
“[I] went into the halftime, and my teammates started out telling me about it,” Williamson reported. “I will not know which dunk it was on, but I do not think it was me.”
